How to set up D-Link DSL-G225 BYO modem for NBN

D-Link DSL-G225

This article provides modem setup advice for NBN services to get you up and running in just a few simple steps;

 

First:

You need to know the technology type used to supply your NBN service.

 

Your NBN technology type can be found in the Installation email we sent to you prior to your NBN service activation. Simply search for nbnorders@tpg.com.au nbn installation confirmed in your email inbox to find this email.

Please choose your NBN technology type below for Setup help for the D-Link DSL-G225. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 You've Determined: You have an NBN FTTP / Wireless service


Please follow the steps below to set up your D-Link DSL-G225.

 

     1. Ensure your NBN Connection Box is turned on

 

     2. Plug an Ethernet cable from the UNI-D1 port on your NBN Connection Box into the red WAN port on your D-Link modem.

If UNI-D1 doesn’t work, try each UNI-D portDSL-G225.png

     3. Plug in the power cable and turn your D-Link modem on using the Power button

     4. You can connect devices such as PC desktops, laptops or gaming consoles by plugging Ethernet cables from the device to any of the four yellow LAN ports, or you can connect devices via WiFiDSL-G225(2).png

     5. Go to http://192.168.1.1 in your browser

 

     6. Log in with your D-Link modem username and password. By default, these are:
          Username: admin
          Password: admin

 

     7. On home screen, select Setup Wizard

 

     8. Complete Step 1 Change Device Login Password and make note of the new password

 

     9. Complete Step 2 Set Time and Date for your location

 

     10. Select ETH WAN as the WAN Service Type

 

     11. Select Australia from the Country drop-down

  

     12. Select TPG from the Internet Service Provider drop down

 

     13. Select PPPoE from the Protocol drop-down

 

     14. Enter your TPG username and password

 

     15. Select Next and continue with the Wizard in setting up your WiFi

 

     16. Select Save/Apply at the end of the Wizard

 

Once you receive notification that your TPG NBN service is active, your D-Link DSL-G225 should now be online. If you are still having issues, please call us on 1300 997 271 for further assistance.

 

 

  You've Determined: You have an NBN FTTC service

 

Please follow the steps below to set up your D-Link DSL-G225.

 

     1. Ensure your NBN Connection Box is turned on

 

     2. Plug an Ethernet cable from the UNI-D1 port on your NBN Connection Box into the red WAN port on your D-Link modem.DSL-G225.png

     4. You can connect devices such as PC desktops, laptops or gaming consoles by plugging Ethernet cables from the device to any of the four yellow LAN ports, or you can connect devices via WiFi

     5. Go to http://192.168.1.1 in your browser.


     6. Log in with your D-Link modem username and password. By default, these are:

         Password: admin

     12. Select TPG from the Internet Service Provider drop down.


     13. Select PPPoE from the Protocol drop-down.


     14. Enter your TPG username and password.


     15. Select Next and continue with the Wizard in setting up your WiFi.


     16. Select Save/Apply at the end of the Wizard.

 

Once you receive notification that your TPG NBN service is active, your D-Link DSL-G225 should now be online. If you are still having issues, please call us on 1300 997 271 for further assistance.

 

 

 

  You've Determined: You have an NBN FTTN / FTTB service

 

Please follow the steps below to set up your D-Link DSL-G225.

 

     1. Plug a phone cable from your telephone wall socket into the grey DSL port on your D-Link modemG225FTTN.png     2. Plug in the power cable and turn your D-Link modem on using the Power button

     3. You can connect devices such as PC desktops, laptops or gaming consoles by plugging Ethernet cables from the device to any of the four yellow LAN ports, or you can connect devices via WiFiDSL-G225(2).png

     4. Go to http://192.168.1.1 in your browser

 

     5. Log in with your D-Link modem username and password. By default, these are:
          Username: admin
          Password: admin

 

     6. On home screen, select Setup Wizard

 

     7. Complete Step 1 Change Device Login Password and make note of the new password.

 

     8. Complete Step 2 Set Time and Date for your location.

 

     9. Select VDSL as the WAN Service Type.

 

     10. Select Australia from the Country drop-down.
     

     11. Select TPG from the Internet Service Provider drop down.

 

     12. Select PPPoE from the Protocol drop-down.

 

     13. Enter your TPG username and password.

 

     14. Select Next and continue with the Wizard in setting up your WiFi.

 

     15. Select Save/Apply at the end of the Wizard.

  You've Determined: You have an NBN HFC service

 

Please follow the steps below to set up your D-Link DSL-G225.

 

     1. Ensure your NBN Connection Box is turned on.

 

     2. Plug an Ethernet cable from the UNI-D1 port on your NBN Connection Box into the red WAN port on your D-Link modem.DSL-G225.png
