How to cancel request to port Telstra phone number to TPG NBN?

I signed up to TPG NBN last week and selected the option to port my number from Telstra.  However, I have since learnt on this forum that porting will take up to 3 months (I wasn't advised this at the time of signing up). Having spent all day unsuccessfully trying to get a response on your "Chat" service I resort to this forum. I cannot wait 3 months to have my phone line connected so I would like to have a new number assigned and complete my connection immediately (the equipment has arrived in the post).  Please help.
