Get online support

porting an existing POP email account to an IMAP account

Hi

Can someone from TPG advise me who to contact in TPG to port my existing email account to an IMAP account.

I know there is an additional annual cost involved but there does not appear to be an option to do this automatically on the site.

Even the topics in this community board do not highlight this as a matter of interest?

Thank you

Hi freddewa,

Welcome to TPG Community!

Is your POP3 email attached to a broadband account? Can you PM us with your TPG customer ID or username and we'll have your request assess further?

How do I private message (PM) in the community

Hi,

Did you get an answer to this question?

I also want to go from TPG POP to IMAP but can't find anything useful in the Community or on the TPG websites.

Hi @Scubayorp,

We can concert the existing POP3 TPG Email to IMAP with the help of our Accounts Specialists. Shoot us a PM with your details together with your best contact time and we will arrange them to contact you to provide information.

How to send a PM?

Regards,

Hi,

I received notification that my account was converted from POP to IMAP, thank you.

Silly question - how do I know if it actually IS IMAP?

Should I have done something at my end?

regards,

Hi Rob Hunt JP,

Apart from incoming port which is 995 for POP3 and 993 from IMAP, the settings should be the same.

Online storage size for IMAP is 2GB while on POP3 messages are temporarily stored and must be downloaded to your computer or device.

Kind regards,

Thanks, but when I go to my Post Office webmail, the settings say it's POP and keeps email for 45 days.

@Scubayorp Let's check your account and confirm the type of email service you have.

Thanks!
