Hi all just bought a tp-link modem to update my 12 year old one. Do I have to configure it myself, or do I ring TPG support. After trying to configure it I have no internet at all now even with the old on reconnected. Regards James

Hi @Jamesvanessa . What is the model of the old router and the new one?
What type of NBN connection do you have?
If you have an NBN box, what is the state of the indicator lights?

The settings are PPPoE, username and password. You may need to set VLAN ID.

Hi old modem is Netcommwireless n300 Wi-Fi gigabit router
New modem tp-link ac1200 vdsl/adsl modem router. NBN is fibre to the house. Only the power and optical light are on.

@Jamesvanessa . Is the Optical light green?

When you connect either router to NBN box, does Alarm light go green?

Whar is the actual model of the new router, eg. VR1600 or VX220 or ...?

Did you get it from TPG or buy at store?

If from TPG, it should configure itself once connected. If it doesn't, you can do it yourself with the above settings.

VLAN ID should be Disabled for your FTTP connection.

Maybe do factory reset and start again.

Optical light is green.
Bought modem/router from store.
Alarm light stays green when connected. Our devices connect to new modem but has no internet. I guess it needs configuration

@Jamesvanessa . The ip address and username and password to login to router are on the label on the router.

Hi @Jamesvanessa

Since it is not a TPG provided router, you need to manually configure it to your NBN FTTP/H.

Use this article as a guide/reference: NBN Fibre To The Premise (NBN FTTP) Setup Guide
