TP Link vr1600 - runs very hot all the time, and the plastic has turned yellow

I have a TP Link vr1600 and the unit has always felt very hot and now the plastic has turned yellow (see attached image).The modem is in a well ventilated area and out of the sun on top of a bedside drawer unit, with nothing around it. I have seen others on the forum complaining about the same modem and issue. I am concerned about the risk of fire?    

Please advise.

Hi Support Team,

 

I also have this issue with my modem and the internet keeps dropping out.

 

Is TPG doing a warranty replacement of these modems or do we need to buy new ones our selves

My VR1600 is also yellow front and back in the same spot top of the modem.

Hi I am also having this issue where the modem is getting hot and plastic turning yellow-brown on the front and the back. Some devices are also having trouble connecting to the internet, where it is connected to the wifi but unable to access internet due to IP address could not be found.

We'll arrange a modem for you. It's also best if we can run some checks on your service to check for any line faults.
