International roaming - still 500 dollars deposit?

I travel often and have turned on international roaming in the past, for which I had to put forward a 500 $ deposit, which was refunded in full or in part later.

Today, I turned it on again, but I did not get the request for the deposit. How do I ensure I'll be able to access the feature if needed?

Hi,
 

You can now top up a minimum of $20.00 when activating international roaming, and you have the option to manually deposit a higher amount depending on your roaming usage.

Any unused amount left over will be credited back to your account within 30 days after you have switched off International Roaming.
