We have had ADSL connection for about a month and the speed is barely 4Mb, how fast should it be? We are unable to stream movies online without it stopping to buffer and most of the time the picture is blurry

Hi @lukenlindy,

Welcome to TPG Community!

Considering the quality and distance of your copper cable from the exchange, which is more than 3 kilometers, we're expecting you to get around 3Mbps download and 436Kbps upload speed.

Please be advised that the actual speeds for ADSL2+ services will vary due to many factors including distance from the local telephone exchange, the quality of the customer's copper phone line, cabling and equipment.

We also need to consider the type/source of content being downloaded, hardware and software configuration, the number of users and performance of interconnecting infrastructure not operated by TPG. Devices connected by Wi-Fi may experience slower speeds than those connected by Ethernet cable.

If you are connecting your devices via Wi-Fi, we recommend having a read of these community articles, which may help in improving the performance of the wireless connectivity.
