ADSL2 Speed poor

NBN has just announced as being available. Now my ADSL2 speed has fallen though the floor. Tonight only 1.8mbps (on the TPG speed test and lower on Speedtes.net). Is TPG throttling back the speeds to push us to NBN?

Hi @heathwatt,

The actual speeds for ADSL services will vary due to many factors including distance from the local telephone exchange, the quality of the customer's copper phone line, cabling and equipment.

Devices connected by Wi-Fi may experience slower speeds than those connected by Ethernet cable.

For customers having issues with their service, we recommend to check first if there's an outage affecting the area.

We list any known outages on our Service Status page. If there are no known outages, we have created this article which contains troubleshooting regarding Slow speed issue .

In your case, we have identified a line fault affecting the line sync speed and we are working with our wholesale partner Telstra to fix the issue as soon as possible.
