My Huawei HG658 router stopped working yesterday. I have orange status lights for power, internet and VOIP. NO light for WLAN. The rest are green.
TPG has tested and palmed me off to NBN. I'm waiting on them to get back to me now.
I'm far from being an expert in these matters but would have thought that an orange power light would indicate a fundamental problem with the router. Has anyone else had this problem?

You are correct, an orange power light for a Huawei modem is indeed an indicative of a nonworking modem. My apologies that this was missed when you spoke to our Technical Team. I can see though that you've already spoken with our Accounts Team earlier in the processing of a new modem. Once the consignment details are available, you will be notified via SMS or email regarding the details.
