Problems with my home phone

Bruiser2074

I have a tpg (over HFC) internet and am using the TPG supplied TP-Link Archer 1600 modem/router.

I have a panasonic cordless phone plugged into the modem (Phone 1 port) and every time I go to make a call, the first time I dial, it gives me a long continuous beep and nothing happens, then i hang up and re-dial the same number and it works fine.

I have turned on the debug logs on the router and had a look and the first call attempt always throws up a log entry: " can not find any account forthe incoming call" (sic)

Then when I attempt the call again it says 'Regsiter to server address 172.26.0.81:5060 and it then works.  IF I try the 3rd, 4th or 5th call again within about 60 seconds, it works every time, then I wait a few minutes and try again and it fails.

Hi @Bruiser2074 ,

Thanks for raising this to us.

Is this the first time that happened? Do you have a different handset that we can use for isolation purposes?

What features does the Panasonic Cordless Phone have?

I suggest try to disable 3rd party feature of the Panasonic Cordless phone such as Caller ID to check if the issue still persist.

Let me know how it will go.

Cheers!
