Adding own router

Can someone please help , I am trying to connect new router to Archer 1600 v supplied TPG modem/router. I am connected to FTTB ( not NBN) . I coonect Router to WAN port , but cant get router to connect to internet although internet is working normally. Not sure if it PPPoE and if so where do i get Password from , or DYnamic connection. Would really appreciate any help here . As there is no telephone support around finding it challenging to get good advice . I assume it fairly straigh forwad if i new the steps

Hi@stevet1010,

With FTTB use the DSL port on the VR1600 ( not the WAN port). 

Try plugging in the line cord from the wall socket to the DSL port.

HI ,

 The Archer modem/router is working fine I want to add my own router . It not NBN connedction it TPG own FTTB in essence ADSL but just need to be able to get new router to talk to Supplied modem so i can get the internet to go thru new router
