Archer VR1600 V2 Firmware upgrade

Hi there,

My Archer VR1600v  keeps disconnecting from the internet - either everything just drops - or certain connections drop..  I could be connected via ethernet, wife connected via her laptop(wifi) and the Google home drops out (normally streaming music).  I feel that the modem is CRAP compared to the previous one you sent when I had an FTTP connection (Archer1200).    I should probably state that the main issues are with the *-5G connection (my phone can't even connect - Samsung S20 Ultra)Due to the drop-outs i think that it could possibly be resolved with a firmware upgrade....?

I have tried everything with this router to try and rectify the drop-outs and am considering purchasing a new one - as the connection is crucial for work!

My current router:

Firmware version 1.1.0 0.9.1 v5006.0 Build 190305 Rel.72906n (FTTB)

Hardware version Archer VR1600v v2 00000000

Please advise if this is the latest version (or where i could get it).

Cheers,
Sean

Hi @maddisonjayde ,

There are different types of dropouts that you may experience:

1. Network dropouts, this dropout is caused by a line fault on TPG or NBN's network. Affecting all device(s) LAN/Wireless connected to the modem/router this may require a real-time test and investigation by our Technicians and Engineers.

2. Wireless dropouts, this issue only affects the device(s) connected via Wi-Fi which can easily be fix by doing adjustment to the modem/router's settings.

3. Dropouts caused by ongoing outage in your area.

In the event that you experience dropouts via Wireless/Wi-Fi connection, we recommend having a read on the following articles:
