Huawei modem hg659 adsl?

Hey folks
I'm moving from an area with nbn to one without and so have to convert to an adsl2+ service. Is there any way to reconfigure my original modem (huawei hg659)? I've seen a few people on other sites suggest it may be possible

Please be advised that supplied HG659 does not support ADSL configuration, it is intended for deployment on FTTB (VDSL) or NBN connections only.
