I can't get internet when I connected to Asus (as second router in the home network).  I have internet access when I connected to TP-LINK.

I was thinking that it was more of an authentication issue only, but thanks for confirming that you can still get a connection from the TP-Link while you have the modems on wireless bridge.

I guess your next option is to try AP mode and see how that will go. I hope you can keep us in the loop.

I ended up with Access Point solution with a cable connected to TP-LINK.
