Using Archer D9 for FTTC connection

Rowrow

Hi,

Just got my NBN FTTC connection activated and connection is working on the TPG supplied Archer VR1600v. This doesn't provide the coverage or speed my D9 did, but I can't seem to get "connected" with the old router. Is this router compatible with FTTC? It has a WAN port.

The only difference I can see between the two is that the VR1600v has a VLAN ID option which I can't see on the Archer D9. Is this the problem?

Thanks for your help!

Rowan

Hi @Rowrow

Thankyou for your enquiry!

We do not support Third Party Modems, but you can try and get details support from your manufacturer.

Generally, NBN services work on a VLAN2 setting.

It may be best to use your TPG modem, and u could turn off the TPG wireless and use your 3rd party modem as a wireless access point.

Thanks, this information was helpful. I managed to contact TP-Link support about it and they sent me an unreleased firmware that allows VLAN settings. If anyone else runs into this issue, email TP-Link support (don't use the live chat as they weren't able to help).

Rowan
