change from TPG adsl to nbn

I like to change from existing adsl to nbn. Have some questions:

1. do i keep my existing phone number

2. do i get new phone equipment with the nbn modem

3. do i have to cancell the existing phone line with Telstra

4. how long it takes for the change over

Responses to your question as follows:

Normally yes you can, however if your current number is with another carrier (ie Telstra) there will be a delay whilst your number is being ported across

2. do i get new phone equipment with the nbn modem

No, most modern phones will work okay with NBN if your phone is old it may need to be replaced

3. do i have to cancell the existing phone line with Telstra

Yes but wait until your TPG service is working and you telephone number has been successfully ported across

4. how long it takes for the change over

Normally between 2-30 days. It is dependant on your location and what other work is required by NBN to faciltate your NBN connection.
