Phone service after failure to port old number

Changed from TPG ADSL to NBN bundle service 7-8 weeks ago.  Internet service connected and working fine, but unable to make outgoing or receive incoming calls.
Modem configuration under Basic > Network Map > Phone includes following message:
Telephone Status: Telephone service unavailable. Please check your account settings or register a new number.
The Number for Incoming Calls is set to the old phone number used before moving to NBN bundle.  Old phone number was to be ported, but porting failed.  The Number for Outgoing Calls is set to Auto.
 
TPG has now issued a new phone number.
How do we change the Number of Incoming Calls phone number in the modem config?  Or is this something that TPG should do at their end?
Have sent 3-4 emails over past month but no responses that address this issue.
