with ever increading SIM swap attacks (someone convinces your carrier to switch your phone number over to a SIM card they own) just wondering the level of protection which TPG can offer for their customers? can we enforce an extra validation for porting requests?
Welcome to TPG Community!
The process of porting a mobile number from one carrier to another is covered by the MNP code which was introduced many years ago by the ACMA(Australian Communications and Media Authority). TPG as a carrier is covered by this code.
The Mobile Number Portability industry Code (MNP Code) sets out the procedural arrangements required to port a mobile number between providers. The code specifies the general rules including timeframes for portability (performance levels) and the porting processes including the requirements for customer authorisations.
