Hello

I cannot send message from my outlook through TPG. I get error message
Task 'xxxxx@tpg.com.au - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC78) : 'Cannot send the message. Verify the email address in your account properties. The server responded: 535 5.7.8 [TPG-A02] Authentication denied. User xxxx@tpg.com.au is banned from using SMTP AUTH due to previous abuse'

This has happened before, I has changed my TPG password etc, every other time this happens the TPG post master had to fix it. This is frustrating TPG to the point that i may cancel all my accounts which I have had since 2011

Hi @Gregory10 ,

I am sad to learn that you feel that way. The 2 common reasons why you are getting this error message.

1. TPG e-mail servers detected some virus or malware on the e-mails that you are sending.

2. TPG e-mail server has detected that your account is sending message to a large number of recipients; Unsolicited bulk email (UBE) / Unsolicited commercial email (UCE).

You can follow the simple steps below to fix this issue:

1. Change you TPG account password online: https://www.tpg.com.au/home/myaccount

2. After changing the password Wait for 15-30 minutes before testing the mail.

Note: If you are sending e-mails to a large number of recipients (Exp: More that 50 recipients) please enable the SMTP authentication on the e-mail client settings to avoid getting banned by the server.

If you are still having the same issue, you may raise this directly to our postmaster (postmaster@tpg.com.au) via email.

Let me know if you wish to speak with our Account Specialists Team to discuss details of service termination.

Hi Shane

Thank you for your reply, i tried to forward your reply to the postmater but it failed to send, so I logged onto the post ofiice and sent it through there, I have sent an Emial to the postmaster as follows:

Dear Postmaster

the first thing I did when I got the below error message was to change my TPG account password and waited for 3 hours it did not change the error message.

I resend emails that i receive in my TPG email account to a different email account where I wish to send out to bulk email address.

I do send a bulk Email to my relatives through TPG email address as I am the historian for my family, I know these are not malware or unsolicited.

I tried to send the below email from outlook to you and got the error message below,

Task 'XXXXX@tpg.com.au - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC78) : 'Cannot send the message. Verify the email address in your account properties.  The server responded: 535 5.7.8 [TPG-A02] Authentication denied. User XXXXXX@tpg.com.au is banned from using SMTP AUTH due to previous abuse'

This is frustrating, can you please fix the problem permanently.

I have been a TPG customer since 2011 but this is driving me away from TPG.

I await your rectification..

Regards

Greg
