Home internet down several hours

I've had no home ADSL internet for several hours now. It is unreliable, but usually outages only last a few minutes.
I can't wait on the phone to get support, how else can I request someone check my connection problem?

Do you have/use a telephone?

Can you check there is dialtone at your modem phone socket.

I have a home phone number 20100915 but no handpiece, I've never used the phone.
