ADSL 2+ Installation Appointment today but service not yet connected

I had an appointment scheduled for this afternoon 1pm - 6pm and was told I did not need to be home for the appointment (although I was). I have plugged in my model and still don't have any connectivity. Can someone please let me know what is happening with this installation?
