Hi ALL!!!

I Need Help.  I sent TPG email already but I got no response.

I will move to the flat (old style apartment) this week.  However, the flat was under renovation and I didn't really check the existing internet.  I just used TPG web site and find that I got ADSL for my address.  Then I did all the ADSL connection applicaiton online.

I received my modem last week and I found that my flat got no phone socket.  However, I found a coaxial socket with a external telsra box outside.

So now, what should I do?  Can TPG still provide me the ADSL service?

I am doubt that I can install the phone line from the street to my property as I will not have the premission from body corp.

NBN is 5-6 months away and I rather to wait for it but I need to sort out this in the mean time.

Regards,

Ping

Hi @ping1952,

Welcome to TPG Community!

We can see that you have been in touch with our Chat Team and you were advised that a telephone socket needs to be installed on the premises for the ADSL service to work.

However, this is not possible as your Landlord won't allow the telephone socket installation.

That being said, you have opted to cancel the service and we have forwarded your concern to our Escalations Team.

We will make a follow up and will have the assigned escalation officer contact you between 1PM and 2PM to further discuss the matter.

Should you have a preferred contact number and time, please send it via private message. Thank you.

This is just getting too complicate.

I am the tenant and I know I will move to the flat.  It is a 30-40 years old building and I assume there will be a phone socket but there is none.

The landlord doesn't want to pay the phone line installation.  There is an obvious solution but to connect into the cable for internet.

TPG will need to charge me $370 to cancel the ADSL contract.  This is not fair as I get charged to "install" the ADSL and I also get charge to pay a month fee upfront.

This is just very unfair.  I am happy if TPG can organise and install the phone socket under their umberalla to provide me the phone and ADSL service.  I understood that I will need to pay extra than a standard installation.

This time, TPG provides me a nightmare.  I need to organise a techinal at my own cost and someone quote me $1000.  We live in a greedy country as everyone just tried to get whatever money that they can.

Just unfair.

Ping

Erika,

I managed to get the landlord to give me a green light to install it by fearing $370 cancellation fee same as what TPG did to me.  Now I get someone to come over to install.  Finger crossed.  I hope I do not have any issue with the phone socket installation.

As for TPG, it is just a bad service to only include the installation from street to MDF.  TPG also doesn't provide to organise someone to installl from MDF to unit.  I recevice some quotes, one of them is $1000.

Someone will come tomorrow, hopefully my ADSL will be all installed.
