after recently being connected to our NBN bundle we have continued to use our pre-existing email address (....@alphalink.com.au ) which was supported through Charriot.
Is it ok to continue to use this address or is there a reason to set up a new TPG email account?

There are a lot of online mail services such as Google's, Yahoo's, etc. I wouldn't recommend TPG's because you might encounter SMTP auth ban in the future as have seen in the community forum before.
