Porting out of TPG service - 30 days notice period?

Hi,

I have emailed cancel@tpg.com.au just now and not understanding why this 30 days notice period?  I understand if it's a cancellation, but I am porting out.  I do understand from TPG service it is a cancellation, but the thing I don't understand is that I have my NBN service has already been deactivated in TPG and my NBN service has already started with the new service and I have no control as to when this happens, so how can this 30 days notice period works when TPG has already stopped my NBN service?  Shouldn't TPG continue to provide me service for the duration of the 30 days which I don't have anymore?

Regards,

Henry

Hi @hchiukt,

Welcome to the community!

Thanks for raising this to us. In accordance to our Terms and Conditions, TPG requires 30 days for a cancellation notice if the account is out of contract. This can be viewed at https://www.tpg.com.au/terms_conditions/nbn.

You have the option to cancel your account prior to the 30 days; however, you will still be required to pay for this
period. Shoot me a private message with your account details (Username/Customer ID together with the address on file) also include your best contact number and preferred time.

I will arrange one of our Account Specialists to contact you and discuss options related to 30 days notice period.

How do I private message (PM) in the community

Same thing happened to me after signing onto More NBN (TPG customer since 2011) to get the government flip to Fibre) which TPG doesn't offer. New connection was up & running same day.

Charged $74.99 for not being connected for next 30days.

Would have possibly returned at some point, but not after this & will no longer be recommending TPG after this which I usually do).

Ticket opened with ACCC.
