TPG thinks my card expires in 2049???

So, my monthly payments have been coming out regular as clockwork. My bank balance is healthy. My debit card is current and not due to expire for two years.
Then I get the rudest letter I have seen from them in 20 years, threatening a$300 disconnection fee. I ask my bank what's going on. They tell me TPG has put an expiry date of 2049 on my card!?
Have they been hacked? Are they having their own Y2K bug? Surely there must be a check in their programming for card expiry dates beyond three years? Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
Thanks. Scott
