ADSL 2+ terrible speeds

Michellette

I'm 0.5km from the exchange. Even at peak times usually get over  14Mbps. Today I have been lucky to get 1Mbps. I've rebooted the modem several times with no improvement. I've been with TPG since dial-up days so I know how to troubleshoot my connection. What's happening? This is ridiculous Speedtest.

@Michellette  I'm sorry to read that your connection is slow, especially since you are near the exchange.

The issue could be the physical connection which would involve lines and equipments inside or outside the house or it could be the wireless or utilization inside your network.

The info on the links below may help.

Please also PM your TPG account details so we can conduct further test with the connection.

I can see that your service is currently for at least 40 hours.

The modem is getting 19,679 Kbps downstream.

How is your current connection?

I ran a test which may have made the connection drop. The test results show issues on the line caused by either an unfiltered equipment connected to the phone socket or a faulty phone socket.

Can you remove all the devices connected to the phone socket and leave only the modem? Test the connection while on this set up and advise us of the result.

Cheers,
Joseph D
