Authentication problem

Hi we have had no internet for 3 days. We have tried redtarting it several times at the modem all lights are normal. Although when we log onto the web browser it say "authentication problem" we saw NBN was down around Strathpine Qld area the other day although we thing it is our modem issue. We have attempted to call several time but have been on hold for 40min plus. Appreciate your help.
