Hi @Optimus

Found this little snippet

Note: Bridge Mode is only supported for VDSL and FIBRE connections.

Setup the Huawei HG659/HG659b:

Login to your the HG659/HG659b interface.
Click Internet from the top menu
Click Internet Settings from the left menu
Locate and select your connection type Image :
VDSL connection: INTERNET_TR069_VDSL_VID_10
Fibre connection: INTERNET_TR069_ETH_VID_10
Click Edit
Change the following settings:
Service type: Tick only INTERNET (ensure both TR069 and Voice are unticked)
Connection type: Bridged
Click Save
Click OK at the warning message

Try that out and see if it works

Log in to modem.

Press start wizzard.

Then click "Connect with another modem"

At this point you'll loose VOIP also.

I'm trying to work out how to keep VOIP going even in bridgemode.  I'm hoping Layer 2 Bridging might help.

Hey all,

Friend with TPG is looking to move to a new router, is on NBN FTTN VDSL connection with a Huawei HG659B. Instructions here say to click "Edit" against the connection.. There isn't an edit button (even in uncropped versions of images).

I've seen the option for using the wizard, but that's worded like it's intended for someone using another modem and using the Huawei as just a router.

How does one place the HG659B into bridge mode when there is no edit button next to the existing VDSL profiles?

Hi Johnp,

I see you've made a blank post reply? Did your response get lost or was it a post status change?

Perhaps there's been a change to the profiles that get pushed out via TR-069 that prohibits user adjustment since this post was made, in which case, how does one enable bridge mode?

Hi TPG,

Having the same problems as everybody else. I just notice that there thread here is for FTTN and I have FTTB. Furthermore, the modem setup page for my HG659 is somewhat different to the descriptions that have been posted for FTTN.

I was hoping that someone could help me out. I've attached two screenshots showing my "Layer2Bridging" options on my setup page and there is no option to change to "internet".

Cheers.

hey @BasilDV

Thanks for the reply. Have only ticked "internet" and unchecked the other two.

There is no "Connection type: Bridged" option.

Is there another way to find and change this option?
