Constant error codes in Destiny 2 since Saturday

Hi Team,

Since Saturday morning i have been experiencing constant error codes in the popular online game Destiny 2.

I am in QLD with FTTP. The errors happen on both PS5 and PC versions of the game.

I can eliminate the errors by tethering my PS5 to my mobile or by using a VPN on my PC.

Here are links to threads on the Destiny subreddit and Bungie help forums discussing the same problems. It only seems to be affecting users in Australia on TPG or TPG-owned ISP's.

Is this related to the submarine cable maintenance shown on the outages page?

If someone could please investigate this issue, if they aren't already, that would be great.

I have no other issues at all with my connection, full 100/40 speeds on all devices, 1ms ping etc, it is only the latency in destiny2 which is a problem.

Thanks very much

Hi Shane,

The issue seems to have been resolved now since Tuesday afternoon.

I'll continue to monitor and report back if it happens again.

Just an FYI, Destiny 2 uses a hybrid server/ peer-to-peer networking model and there are no publically known game servers to run a tracert against (at least as far as i am aware).

Thanks very much

Hi @JonasBlaine ,

Thanks for raising this to us.

I would love to help and get to the bottom of this. To better understand the situation drop me a private message with your accont details (Username/Customer ID together with the address on file).

Also perform the troubleshooting below and send me the screenshot of the test results.

I. CONTINUOUS PING:

To conduct a continuous ping, ensure that none of your other PCs are doing internet activity.
Open up the command prompt of one of your PCs.
Type the following in "ping <IP address> -n 1000" without the quotations.
ping 192.168.1.1 -n 1000
ping http://tpg.com.au -n 1000

Wait for the test to finish and for the PING STATISTICS, found at the end, to show up.
Save the screenshots.

We should have 3 ping test results.

II. TRACE ROUTE

To conduct a trace route,
Open up the command prompt of one of your PCs.
Type the following in "tracert http://tpg.com.au" without the quotations.
EXAMPLE: tracert http://tpg.com.au

Perform another trace route to your game server.

Save a screen shot of the traceroute results.

III. SPEED TESTS:

For speed tests, please run the speed tests at : http://www.speedtest.net
Please just get a screenshot after the test is complete.
Please don't forget to indicate the timestamps for these tests.

How do I private message (PM) in the community

Regards,

@Anonymous . Asking this question again. What is this address 10.20.22.148 in the ping test? Is it some specific device in the NBN network or some device in TPG network?

And you are still using the wrong format in some of the commands.
