How to solve regular dropouts

Kennyconomos

Hi,

I am experiencing regular NBN dropouts, usually last just a few minutes.

The big issue for me is I compete in endurance simulator racing and I have had these drop outs in 12 & 24hr long races which completely ruins it not for just me but also my team mates. We practice for weeks before an event so it is incredibly frustrating if this happens during a race.

In this situation I can not accept drop outs, so I am posting here to see if there is a resolution or if it is common with TPG, if I need to change providers I am happy to do so, whatever it takes to not have this issue. Sometimes it happens at peak times at night, but it also happens in races at 4 or 5am so I don't think it is peak related. Also I am always connect via ethernet cable.

Hoping you can help.

Cheers,
Kenny.

Hi @Kennyconomos,

There are different types of dropouts that you may experience:

1. Network dropouts, this dropout is caused by a line fault on TPG or NBN's network. Affecting all device(s) LAN/Wireless connected to the modem/router this may require a real-time test and investigation by our Technicians and Engineers.

2. Wireless dropouts, this issue only affects the device(s) connected via Wi-Fi which can easily be fix by doing adjustment to the modem/router's settings.

3. Dropouts caused by ongoing outage in your area.

In the event that you experience dropouts via Wireless/Wi-Fi connection, we recommend having a read on the following articles:

Since you mentioned that you're always connecting via Ethernet cable, we'd like to look into this further and kindly send us a private message with your TPG customer ID, username and complete address so we can pull up your account.
