Internet drop out during rain or windy conditions

SamT

Hi There,
I am seeking assistance as my home internet constantly drops out whenever it is rainy or there are slightly elevated winds. It is becoming increadibly frustrating, and has been plaguing the household internet for years. My neighbours do not seem to experience the same issue, or at least not as severe. I am not sure if its related the infrastructure or the NBN provider but if it is possible to provide any assistance/advice on how to resolve these losses, as during the winter period, the prevalence of these internet drop outs are both more frequent, and last longer which is growing incresingly more annoying. Hopefully there is something that can be done?

Hi @SamT ,

There are different types of dropouts that you may experience:

1. Network dropouts, this dropout is caused by a line fault on TPG or NBN's network. Affecting all device(s) LAN/Wireless connected to the modem/router this may require a real-time test and investigation by our Technicians and Engineers.

2. Wireless dropouts, this issue only affects the device(s) connected via Wi-Fi which can easily be fix by doing adjustment to the modem/router's settings.

3. Dropouts caused by ongoing outage in your area.

In the event that you experience dropouts via Wireless/Wi-Fi connection, we recommend having a read on the following articles:
