Mini Dropouts several times a day

Hello,

Over the last week and half/two weeks my NBN HFC connection has been experience small dropouts. They only last a few minutes at most and it reconnects without me having to intervene (i.e. no need to turn anything off the on). I have noticed the NBN provided Arris modem's "Online" light will flash during their period then turn solid and, after a few moments, my connection will restore itself.

I have an Asus RT-AX3000 router with the NBN supplied modem. I have looked at the router's log and the disconnects look more or less like this:

The "Serial link appears to be disconnected" and "WAN Connection: Fail to connect" lines are always there but I'm not sure what serial link it is talking about... I have tried swapping the ethernet cable that connects the modem and router but that has not change the behaviour, nor has updating the firmware of the router.

At this stage I'm hoping it's not a router issue because the blinking led on the Arris modem would lead me to believe it's something further up that is causing this but any help would be much appreciated.

Hi @b4t3man

For customers experiencing any issues with their service, we recommend the best thing to do first is check if there's an outage.

Check our Service Status page for any known outages. If you're on NBN, we have created this article that can guide you on How to Check for NBN Network Outage

If there are no known outages in your area, you can proceed with the troubleshooting steps indicated on this link: Troubleshooting No Internet Connection

If you are still having issues, please send us a private message with your TPG customer ID, username and complete address so we can pull up the account.
