Modem not connecting

I reformatted a modem last night due to some wifi issues. Since then it will not connect.

* I reset the password thru my account
* I updated the firmware on modem. No connection
* I have replaced the modem with a brand new one
* I have been able connect with an old modem that had old settings from two years ago. (I have no idea what the user/pass is to access the modem settings so it would be an old password)

I strongly feel I need a reset of a password considering the above. Ill admit being very frustrated having missed two calls from an 'engineer' and receiving two other calls with no one on the line.

After some 10 years of connecting to tpg Im finding the tech support service appalling. Im no IT dummy having work at an ISP in the past. My contract has ended and I see no reason to continue my association with tpg.

I need a resolution to this issue.
