No DSL light

I have set up my FTTN correctly according to policy and was on hold twice for an hour each time to be told there is no solution to my DSL light being off. I was informed that the engineering team would look at my case but before I was able to get a reference number I was hung up on. I just purchased this service and modem costing 200 bucks when I assume that the mistake is that my system has been incorrectly activated. I am 24 hrs from cancelling my policy and moving to another provider who will attempt to help my situation.
