Slow NBN

I am getting speeds of between 2-5mb every night from about 7:30-8 onwards. I am on a 100mb plan, this is totally unacceptable! I contacted support in late July only to be told that new equipment was being installed in the local exchange. Of course, nothing has really changed and lately it has been getting worse, closer to 1-3mb and not usuable. TPG please stop telling lies and support your long term users!!!!

Hi @Pchappy451,

Welcome to TPG Community!

It is strange that you are only getting this speed, where in fact, TPG ranked #1 for average NBN download speed in the recent November 2018 ACCC Measuring Broadband Australia Report.

See full details here: https://community.tpg.com.au/t5/Broadband-Internet/TPG-1-for-average-NBN-download-speed-November-201...

In addition, TPG has also ranked #1 for NBN download speed during very busy hours in July's ACCC broadband speed report.

Typical Evening Download Speed is measured between 7pm and 11pm. The actual speeds for the service may be slower and vary due to many factors including type/source of content being downloaded, hardware and software configuration, the number of users and performance of interconnecting infrastructure not operated by TPG. Devices connected by Wi-Fi may experience slower speeds than those connected by Ethernet cable.

Speeds outside of the typical evening period should be on par or better as there are less active users on the network.

If you could give us a chance, we'd like to investigate what is really causing the speed issue and what can be done to resolve this.

Should you wish to proceed with the investigation, feel free to PM us your best contact number and most convenient time to receive a call.

We value you as our customer and we would like to turn your experience around.
