Slow internet Redfern

I’ve recently had Cat 5 cabling put through my house to try and boost speed and reliability instead of relying on wireless. I’m still only getting speeds of 1.5 mbps and have to rely on my mobile data . Is this being rectified .. I see my place isn’t ready for nbn until January!
