Hi all,

Upload speed on 5G Home Broadband is super slow. I can only get around 5mbps. Download speed is always 100mbps+. I am on Wi-Fi, but right next to the modem.

Anyway to improve the upload speed?

Thanks.

I talked to TPG Support and they were unable to solve the slow upload issue. Upload speed is critical since I do a lot of video calls for work. I am going back to NBN.

Hi @spinier

Can you test the speed via Wired for comparison?

Are you connected to the 2.4GHz or 5Ghz band? If you can only see one SSID/WiFi name, then you need to disable the band steering on the modem interface.

I am connecting to 5GHz.

Disabling Band Steering makes it worse.

Hi @spinier

Have you tried running a speed test on a desktop or laptop connected via LAN? If yes, what is the result of the speed test?

Could you flick me a PM with your details to better understand the situation?

How to send a PM?

Regards,

I don't have a wired device handy. Sent you a PM with my account name.

Using a LAN increases the upload speed to around 7.5Mbps. Better, but still half of advertised speed.
