Speed reduced after fault fixed

Just had an NBN technician fix my sync fault (the connection was constantly flapping).  Prior to the issue, I was getting just under 50Mbps but since he fixed it, I struggle to get 16Mbps.  I know that 50 is the max I can get based on my location but to have dropped by nearly 70% seems a bit excessive.  How can I get back to the speed I was achieving before?
