TP link archer c1200 slowing down internet

Hi,

I have just signed up for a 100Mbps NBN FTTP plan, and have received an Archer C1200.

When I plug my computer into the gigabit Ethernet switch on this router, my maximum speed using Speedtest.net is about 70Mbps down. However, if I unplug the router and connect my PC directly to the NTD and create a PPPoE connection on the PC, I easily get better than 95Mbps using the same speed test tool. This is the only device connected to the router. If I connect my PC via WiFi to the router, I don’t get better than 50Mbps even though I am using AC wireless which is syncing at around 500Mbps according to the operating system.

Could you please help me configure my modem so that it isnt wasting this speed?

Thanks,
Jeremy

Good day @jerh,

Welcome to TPG Community!

Thank you for the information that you've shared with us. Since you are able to receive a good speed directly from the NBN NTD box.

Have you tried to reset and reconfigure your AC1200 router? If it's done. Please shoot me a private message of your preferred time and best number to be contacted and I'll arrange a call from our Tech team to look into it further.

Regards,
