Unable to find wifi on device

I’ve recently moved house and had to change to 4G home internet as the area I moved to doesn’t have 5G.

I’m struggling to connect my security cameras to the new wifi, basically it doesn’t exist. The FAQ on the cameras site says to ensure my routers network encryption is not WPA3-only and also to ensure it’s a 2.4GHz network. How do I go about finding out whether my new broadband service is either of those?

Hi @Gildingsv . What is the model number of the 4G router?

Can any of your wifi devices connect?

Do you have an ethernet computer?

Hi @david64, thanks for your message! Model no is Archer MR600, and no computer with Ethernet. I’ve got my phone connected and after a lot of work I managed to connect my chrome cast, but that was a nightmare. Any ideas?

@Gildingsv . In the router, go to Basic, Wireless.

Disable Smart Connect if set.

Enable both networks.

Don't hide SSID.

Make the 5GHz SSID different from 2.4GHz.

Save.

Go to Advanced, Wireless, Wireless Settings.

Check that each SSID uses WPA/WPA2 Personal.

You might need to reconnect your devices.

Hi @david64, how do I get in the router?

@Gildingsv . On your phone, start the browser (Chrome or Safari).

In the address field, enter 192.168.1.1

If it asks you to set a password, make it    admin   just for now.

Otherwise, the password is on the label on the router.

Because the router should be partly set up by TPG, the email you received might have the password.

This should be the main menu. Continue as above.
