I have been an ADSL2 and then NBN user for several years and am well out of contract.
I'd now like to upgrade to a plan with a faster speed.
Will this mean that I must begin a fresh contract period?

Since you already have an existing NBN account with us, simply upgrading your plan will not put you under a new contract.
