We signed up to the NBN50 and were told that calls were included. Seems this wasn't the case and now we need to add credit to use the home phone. Can anyone tell me how long that credit lasts? It's only for the kids for emergencies, we both have mobiles, so we don't want to be paying $10 a month if the credit expires (I would just get an add on if that were the case).

The prepaid balance will not expire. As long as you have a sufficient balance to use the phone service, it will work.
Customers will add their prepaid balance manually, instead of taking it automatically as we understand customers don't use the service as often.
