Old Phone Connection points and the NBN

We have jst connected to FTTN NBN.  VERY HAPPY (change over seamless, and a big improvement on our ADSL).

Our router is in the roof, but the phone is in another (akward) place, and running a new phone cable to the VOIP router is going to be a bit of a job.  My question is, is there an option to connect a phone to the router without it being physically connected (e.g. a WiFi compatible extender?)

We appreciate your query. Unfortunately, any handset will need to be connected directly to the modem since it is encrypted for security purposes.
