Is the phone (VOIP) port on the TP Link VR1600 designed for a standard Telstra style phone. Or does it need a special phone?
If it is a normal phone, if a cable is run from the modem port to a telephone network ( RJ11), can multiple phones be attached? Assuming the telephone network is removed from the new internet/NBN connection?
Hi @phr49 Welcome to the community, the RJ11 phone port on the VR1600v will work with any analogue handset including the standard issue Telstra phone and many cordless style phones.
Multiple phones can be paralleled to the same port however I wouldn't recommend more than 3 wired devices as it may load the ring voltage too much to be reliable.
