5GHz wifi issue with VR1600v router

Hi,

The 5GHz band on this VR1600v router works well for a short time and then drops out entirely. It will then either not be visible to any device or simply state 'Can't connect to this network' when reconnect is attempted. What is the solution?

 

This does not appear to be a unique problem per similar questions on this forum.

 

To clarify - my devices are within 10 feet (line of sight) of the router and prior to sudden 5GHz disconnection, speed tests were same as wired connection. Firmware version 1.1.0 0.9.1 v5006.0 Build 190305 Rel.72906n.
