Faulty HFC modem?

I dont know if i am having issues with the internet connection itself or just the modem . I have called TPG Tech multiple times before regarding this issue but this happens time again and its getting really frustrating .

 

My internet drops out quite frequently but I think it may be the modem(?) as it takes all decive to the modem's gateway page -HUAWEI Home gateway. It says something like the website is restricted etc. It takes about 5-10 mins and everything then goes back to normal again.

 

This issue use to happen a lot before but now days its 1-2 a week but its still annoying. Also the internet speed  in the last few days has been terrible.I dont seem to even get more than 5 mbps.

 

I have been looking at some modem from JB hifi and  wanted to check if this one is compatible -

Netgear R6400 AC1750 Smart Wi-Fi Router

I had a similar issue last year, Brought a new modem and fixed the problem but you may have an issue getting your setting correct.
