I'd like your comments on some questions I asked recently.
There has been confusion about latest firmware for VR1600 ( Build 200810 Rel.53181n and Build 190228 Rel.72265n ). You said that the Engineering team would provide a definitive answer.
My comment at the time was: Obviously 200810 is the latest because it doesn't have the VPN function; 190228 did.
You have since replied to some threads that 200810 is the latest.
I'd like to know more about the reasoning for the security issue about VPN.
What is the security risk if the VPN function is activated?
Who is your vendor that made the decision?
You could have tried to migrate users to switch away from the other two types of VPN to OpenVPN which uses a certificate for security.
There was no notification of the feature being removed.
I'd also like to know why my firmware was updated without being asked for (it shipped with 190228). BasilDV replied to a user that firmware updates have to be requested. Is TPG doing a bulk update for its hundreds of thousands of VR1600?
