If you are under TPG ADSL service, then you need to make sure that the configuration is correct. Here's an online support link for the required configuration: https://www.tpg.com.au/support/generalsetting.php.
If you are under TPG NBN service, you need to make sure that your third party modem is compatible and be informed that the VoIP will not work because the settings of it is embedded on our modem/router. There's an online support link that will advise you about the required configuration for the NBN. You may check it here: https://www.tpg.com.au/support/nbn_setup. note: VLAN ID should be set to 2
Could you post a screenshot of the current settings you have with the modem? Also, could you shoot us a PM with us your details to better understand the situation.

Hi all. Signed up with TPG a week ago. Moved from Telstra. I have a Telstra Smart Modem Gen 1. DJA0230. Will this work with my TPG? My lights are all Diffrent colors and i cant get a straight answer from anyone to tell me what to do. Somone from telstra said telstra modems dont work with TPG but TPG said they do.....im confused and feel like im being ripped off by tpg!. Do i need to go out and get a modem or not? If so which 1 exactly. I really need straight answers as lack there of is seriously stressing me out!
