parental control on Huawei HG659

Hi,

I would like to configure my HG659 router in a way that it allows certain MAC adresses for specific times, but disallows ALL MAC adresses by default. I can't figure out how to do that. If I use the modem to disallow my son's MAC for a specific (night)time only, he simply enters a new MAC in Windows and goes surfing again, because new MACS are always allowed. Any help greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Hi @rankenburg,

Welcome to the community!

I do not think if the MAC Filtering of the HG659 has the option to set specific time to block the MAC address of a certain devices.

But you can simply block the devices MAC address by doing the steps below.

  • Click the Security tab
  • Choose WLAN MAC Filter Configuration
  • select Enable WAN MAC filter, set the filter mode and click New.

Let me know should you require further assistance.

Regards,
