Hi we're moving house from existing NBN FTTC to new FTTN. I understand that I can't use the NBN FTTC modem/router solution that I currently have. You told me on the phone to just plug in the modem to activate the new connection. Does my current TP LINK VX220-G2v purchased through TPG work properly, or do I need an upgrade? We are using phone over internet. Regards, kai

Hi, I have set up a time rule in parental control to limit internet access for my children. However, the way the filter works is by checking the computer name only. All they have to do to get around this is change the MAC address on their computer. There are hundreds of websites that explain the technique. What I want is a router that only allows traffic for certain specified MACs. This is not possible with my current model. Is there a different router that you can offer as a replacement that has better traffic controls?

First off I rebootet my modem, and the HG659 reset the system time to 2010-01-01 08:01:24. I cannot find anything to change system time anymore so I assume you changed the modem's firmware? Hi, after the reboot it seemed intially better (hard to tell) but recently i get very frequent disconnects again. Again, this does not occur when using the 4g mobile network, so the problem doesn't seem to be server-side. is there a possibillity to switch to a more modern router (the HG569 is maybe getting old)? can I use a BYO modem with my current VOIP plan?

Hi, When playing minecraft my NBN connection very often (every 10 minutes or so) disconnects from the minecraft server with an error message 'An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host' pointing to an unstable connection. I do not see this problem when I use the exact same computer setup but tethered to my Amaysim 4G phone internet, and ethernet switched off. I am using your Huawei HG659 modem/router. Is there anything you can do to improve the situation? Cheers

Hi, I would like to configure my HG659 router in a way that it allows certain MAC adresses for specific times, but disallows ALL MAC adresses by default. I can't figure out how to do that. If I use the modem to disallow my son's MAC for a specific (night)time only, he simply enters a new MAC in Windows and goes surfing again, because new MACS are always allowed. Any help greatly appreciated! Cheers
